Iron Sharpens Iron (ironsharpensiron.us) is a daily tracker and Library for young Christian men. This page says, in plain words, what we keep, who sees it, and how to get rid of it.
What we keep
- Your account: username, first name, email, password (stored scrambled; we can't read it), and your birthday if you add one.
- What you put in: daily check-ins and streaks, habits, Library quiz progress, workouts and PRs, meal plan and goals, Sunday answers, calendar events, notes, and money entries.
- Your plan: which plan you're in and who else is in it.
- Email preference: whether you said yes to encouragement and update emails.
We don't use ad trackers, and we don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
Signing in with Google
If you use "Continue with Google," Google tells us your name, email address, and profile picture link, and that you signed in. That's all. We don't get your Gmail, contacts, calendar, files, or anything else in your Google account, and we never post anything for you.
Who can see your stuff
- You. Everything.
- People in your plan (friends or family plans) can see your username, first name, birthday, check-ins, streaks, workouts, quiz progress, calendar events, and Sunday answers. That's the point of the plan.
- Nobody else in your plan can see your email address, your email preference, or anything on the Money page. Money stays private to you.
- Your calendar link: if you make a calendar link for Google, Apple, or Outlook, anyone you give that link to can see your events. You can make a new link on the Calendar page at any time; the old one stops working.
Who helps us run the site
These companies store or move your information only so the site works:
- Supabase stores accounts and everything you save.
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Klaviyo sends our emails (welcome and password reset for everyone; encouragement and updates only if you said yes).
- Google handles "Continue with Google" if you use it.
- Stripe will handle payments once paid plans open. We never see or store your card number.
- YouTube plays videos on some Library pages, and YouTube links open YouTube. Google's privacy policy covers what YouTube collects.
Emails
Everyone gets the emails an account needs: a welcome email and password resets you ask for. Encouragement, new lessons, and updates only go to people who ticked the box, and every one of those has an unsubscribe link. You can also turn them off on your Account page.
Deleting your account
Go to your Account page and choose "Delete my account." That permanently deletes your account and everything you saved, right away. If you owned a plan, ownership passes to the next member. Your email may stay on our email list's do-not-email record so we respect an unsubscribe.
Age
Iron Sharpens Iron is for people 13 and older. If you're under 18, use it with a parent's okay; a family plan is a good way to do that. If you think someone under 13 made an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes and questions
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and email account holders about big changes. Questions or requests: malakai@insteadofcollege.com.
